Mark Wallinger’s sculpture was announced the winner yesterday of a competition to design an artwork to mark the building of Ebbsfleet International station in north Kent and Ebbsfleet Valley, a new town between Dartford and Gravesend.Mark Wallinger is the Artist who won the Turner Prize in 2007 for his recreation of an Iraq-war protester’s display.
This Statue which will be up to 50 metres tall has already cost 1 million pounds to commission and expenses will probably exceed 2 million pounds.
When 25000 People of this town look through their windows, this big sculpture will greet them. Passengers aboard Eurostar will be astonished by the scale of the horse.
